Learn about item configuration fields

Updated over 9 months ago

Standard item details are organized into four sections, and item variants details are organized into two sections. Within each section, fields marked with a red asterisk are required. This guide explains the key fields in each section to help you set up items.

Standard Item

Basic information

The following list describes the key fields under the Basic Information section:

  • Image: Each item can have up to five images. If no images are uploaded, the default image in the upload area is used.

  • Product Name and Product Description: These two fields support multi-language entry and are displayed to buyers. For more information on multi-language settings, refer to Multi-language capability.

  • Product ID: This field uniquely identifies the item within your business. Consistent product IDs are recommended for equivalent items across stores to simplify product management.

  • Categories: This field displays the groups that the item belongs to. The dropdown menu lists all existing categories and the Add Category option. For more information on adding a category, refer to Learn about category configuration fields.

  • Tax Applicable: This field specifies whether an item is taxable. The selection must conform to your business location's tax policies.

  • Packaging Fee: This fee applies only to the buyer's bill for pickup or delivery orders.

  • Availability: This field specifies which stores the item will be published to. To edit this field, you must save the item first. The following options are available on the edit page:

    • Delist: Remove the item from a specific store.

    • List: Publish the item to a specific store.

Note: The Availability field controls whether an item is included in a store. To keep an item in a store but update its status between Available and Sold Out, use the Set Status feature next to each item on the item list page.

Choice group settings

The Choice Group Settings section is optional, and you need to offer customized options for an item. Key features in this section include:

  • Link choice groups: Link choice groups to the item by clicking Link Choice Groups and selecting one of the following options:

    • Selecting an existing choice group from the dropdown menu.

    • Creating a new choice group by clicking Create Choice Group.

  • Verify the quantity rule of a choice group:

    • For an existing choice group, the quantity rule automatically syncs with the existing settings and can only be changed by editing the choice group from the Choice Group tab.

    • For a new choice group, the default quantity rule allows buyers to choose 0-1 choice from the choice group. To update the rule, change the value in the Min and Max fields.

  • Link choices to the item:

    • By default, all existing choices within a choice group are linked to the item. Deselect the checkbox of a specific choice to exclude it from the item.

    • Add choices to both new and existing choice groups by clicking Add Choice and choosing one of the following options:

      • Select an existing choice from the dropdown menu organized into the following two tabs based on their type:

        • Modifier

        • Item

      • Create a new modifier as a choice by clicking Add Modifier under the Modifier tab. You can quickly create a modifier by entering a name and a price. To provide more details, go to Product > Modifier and edit the modifier later.

  • Overwrite the choice's original price: Set the Add-on Price field to specify the additional charge for a choice, applicable only when the choice is an item (for example, when the top-level item is a combo).

  • Adjust display order: Use the upward and downward arrows beside each choice group up to change its order in the store.

Publish settings

The Publish Settings section specifies the sales channels and service types where the item is enabled. By default, the item is enabled in all sales channels and corresponding service types. You can deselect the checkbox to disable the item in certain sales channels or service types.

Pricing settings

The Pricing Settings section specifies the price for the item and includes the following two parts:

  • Default price: Set a price used across all sales channels and stores.

  • Price settings per sales channels: Customize prices for each sales channel and service type. This feature is available only after saving Default price. The pricing includes the following options:

    • Use default prices: Apply the price specified by Default price.

    • Customize prices: Use a different price to overwrite the default one. Suboptions include:

      • Set a universal price for all stores: Use the same price for all stores associated with the specific sales channel and service type.

      • Set prices by stores: Customize the price for each store associated with the specific sales channel and service type. To further set the price, ensure the item is saved. Then on the Edit Item page, click View Available Stores and change the price per store.

Note: Pricing settings do not affect Add-on Price for combo options under Choice Group Settings.
