Learn about modifier configuration fields

Updated over 12 months ago

Modifier details are organized into three sections. Within each section, fields marked with a red asterisk are required. This guide explains key fields in each section to help you set up modifiers.

Basic information

The following list describes the key fields under the Basic Information section:

  • Modifier Name and Description: These two fields support multi-language entry and are displayed to buyers. For more information on multi-language settings, refer to Multi-language capability.

  • Product ID: This field uniquely identifies the modifier within your business. Consistent product IDs are recommended for equivalent modifiers across stores to simplify product management.

  • Image: Each modifier can have only one image. If no image is uploaded, the default image in the upload area is used.

  • Tax Applicable: This field specifies whether a modifier is taxable. The selection must conform to your business location's tax policies.

  • Availability: This field specifies which stores the modifier will be published to. To edit this field, you must save the modifier first. The following options are available on the edit page:

    • Delist: Remove the modifier from a specific store.

    • List: Publish the modifier to a specific store.

Note: The Availability field controls whether a modifier is included in a store. To keep a modifier in a store but update its status between Available and Sold Out, use the Set Status feature next to each modifier on the modifier list page. For more information, refer to Edit modifier availability.

Choice group settings

The Choice Settings section links choices to choice groups. Key features in this section include:

  • Set up link: Click Link Choice Groups and select one of the following options:

    • Select an existing choice group from the dropdown menu.

    • Create a new choice group by clicking Create Choice Group.

  • Verify the quantity rule of a choice group:

    • For an existing choice group, the quantity rule automatically syncs with the existing settings and can only be changed by editing the choice group from the Choice Group tab.

    • For a new choice group, the default quantity rule allows buyers to choose 0-1 choice from the choice group. To update the rule, change the value in the Min and Max fields.

Pricing settings

The Pricing Settings section specifies the price for the modifier and includes the following parts:

  • Default price: Set a price used across all sales channels and stores.

  • Price settings per sales channels: Customize prices for each sales channel and service type. This feature is available only after saving Default Price. The pricing includes the following options:

    • Use default price: Apply the price specified by Default Price.

    • Customize prices: Use a different price to overwrite the default one. Suboptions include:

      • Set a universal price for all stores: Use the same price for all stores associated with the specific sales channel and service type.

      • Set prices by stores: Customize the price for each store associated with the specific sales channel and service type. To further set the price, ensure the modifier is saved. Then on the Edit Modifier page, click View Available Stores and change the price per store.
