Category details are organized into two tabs on the left sidebar. Within each tab, fields marked with a red asterisk are required. This guide explains the key fields under each tab to help you set up categories.
Basic information
The following list describes the key fields under the Basic Information tab:
Category Name and Description: These two fields support multi-language entry and are displayed to buyers. For more information on multi-language settings, refer to Multi-language capability.
Image: Each category can have one image. If the merchant chooses not to upload an image, the image displayed in the upload area is used.
Item list
The interface under the Item List tab differs for new and existing categories.
For new categories
The page displays all created items, organized into the following three columns:
Item: This column displays the item name.
Categories: This column indicates which categories the item belongs to.
Price: This column displays the item price.
Operations on this page include:
Include items in the category by selecting the checkbox next to the item.
Search for specific items using the search icon in the Item column header.
View categorized or uncategorized items via the filter icon in the Categories column header.
For existing categories
The page has the following two tabs for item organization:
Included Items: This tab displays items included in the category from the previous edit, with checkboxes selected. To remove an item from the category, deselect the corresponding checkbox.
Excluded Items: This tab lists items not included in the category from the previous edit, with checkboxes deselected. To add an item to the category, select the corresponding checkbox.
