Apply discounts in D-Store POS

Updated over 11 months ago

D-Store offers two types of discounts: ad-hoc discounts and promo codes. Both can be manually applied when processing orders in D-Store POS. Ad-hoc discounts allow you to provide custom discounts at the item or check level, while promo codes enable you to create more complex campaigns, such as BOGO (Buy One Get One) or "2 for 20% off."

Before you begin

Ensure your POS account is set up, and create the promo codes you want to offer on the D-Store Console.

Discount usage rules

When applying ad-hoc discounts or preset promo codes, follow these guidelines:

  • Ad-hoc discounts can be applied manually at both the item and order levels.

  • Ad-hoc discounts provide default shortcuts for discounts like 5% or 10% off on the Discount page.

  • To make an order or item free, simply apply a 100% custom discount at checkout or to the specific item.

  • Ad-hoc discounts will not be recorded in Marketing on D-Store Console.

  • Promo codes are valid across all D-Store sales channels.

  • Each order may apply only one promo code but allows up to five item-level discounts to be applied.

  • Promo codes cannot be used together with ad-hoc discounts.

(Optional) Create discount shortcut

You can create discount shortcuts to display a button on the Register page for quick application.

Take the following steps to create a discount shortcut in D-Store POS:

  1. Tap Actions, and tap Edit Layout.

  2. Tap + in the bottom-right corner and select Discount on the Add Actions to Menu pop-up window.

  3. Tap Close to return to the Edit Layout page.

  4. Tap the close icon in the top left corner to save the change.

Apply discounts

Apply an ad-hoc discount to an item

Depending on the scenario, use one of the following methods to apply ad-hoc discounts to an item:

  • If the item has modifiers, you can tap Discount before adding the item to the cart.

  • If the item has been added to the cart, tap it and select a percentage off in the discount shortcuts, or tap Custom to enter a specific discount amount.

To offer a specific amount or percentage off, tap the currency label or percent sign on the Custom Discount page to switch discount type.

Apply an ad-hoc discount to the entire check

Tap Discount, then select a percentage off in the discount shortcuts, or tap Custom to enter a specific discount amount.

To offer a specific amount or percentage off, tap the currency label or percent sign on the Custom Discount page to switch discount type.

Apply a preset promo code to the check

Ensure that you have added all the items to meet the requirements for the promo code discount. Take the following steps to apply a promo code discount:

  1. Select the check you want to apply a discount from the checklist.

  2. Tap Discount > Promo Discount.

  3. Select one of the preset promo codes to apply.
