About Order Ready Display

Order Ready Display (ORD) is a system that synchronizes customers' order status to a display screen. This notifies customers when their orders are ready for collection. Customers can also scan a QR code on their receipt to check their order status.

Two ways to update order status on ORD

You can use any screen that connects to the internet and supports web browsing with Google Chrome to serve as your Order Ready Display screen. For updating the order status, there are two methods:

1. Kitchen Display System (KDS)

When kitchen staff mark an item as completed on the KDS, it automatically triggers the order status to change to Ready to Collect on the display screen. Learn more about that in Update order status via KDS.

2. QR Scanner Method

Staff can scan the QR code printed on either the kitchen ticket or customer receipt to update the order status. For detailed instructions on using a QR scanner with ORD, see our guide Update order status via QR code.

Set up Order Ready Display on D-Store POS

  1. On D-Store POS, tap on the three horizontal lines icon on the bottom left > Hardware > Order Ready Display.

  2. Copy the ORD link.

  3. Paste the ORD link into a Google Chrome browser.

Understanding Order Ready Display settings

D-Store Order Ready Display offers 6 types of configurations that allow you to customize the display based on your store's needs:

  1. Layout Configuration: Configure how orders will be organized on the screen.

    1. Combine: Orders are displayed by order status (preparing and ready to collect), regardless of category. This layout is typically used for non-food court setups.

    2. Split: Orders are displayed by categories and only orders ready for collection will be shown. This layout is typically used for food court setups.

  2. Display Categories

    1. If you choose the Combined layout, by default, all menu categories will be displayed. You can deselect specific categories that don't need to be displayed.

    2. If you choose the Split layout, you can select a maximum of 7 different categories.

  3. Pickup Expiration Time: Specify how long an order number will remain displayed in the "Ready to Collect" section. You can select up to 10 minutes.

  4. Service Type: Specify which service types (Dine-in, Pickup, and Delivery) will be displayed. By default, the Order Ready Display will show all service types.

  5. Notification Time: Determine when to notify customers that their order is ready for pickup when an order has multiple items:

    1. Full Order Completion: The order will only be marked as ready when all items in a kitchen ticket are completed in the KDS or their QR code is scanned.

      1. Example: If a customer orders 3 drinks and 2 mains, the order number will only appear as "Ready to Collect" when all 5 items are completed.

    2. Partial Order Completion: The order will be marked as ready when any item in a kitchen ticket is completed in the KDS or their QR code is scanned.

      1. Example: If a customer orders 3 drinks and 2 mains, the order number will appear as "Ready to Collect" as soon as any one of these items is completed.

  6. System Language: Choose the language for your Order Ready Display. This setting also determines the audio language used when calling out order numbers.
